Neha Kakkar and Tony Kakkar’s latest song, “Candy Shop”, has become the center of a heated debate online. While some listeners are criticizing the track as low-quality and distasteful, Tony Kakkar seems unfazed and has delivered a spirited response to the trolls.
The sibling duo, already active on social media, released their new song “Lollipop Candy Shop”, which immediately drew a storm of criticism. Many viewers slammed the lyrics and Neha Kakkar’s dance moves, calling them inappropriate and detrimental to Indian music.
In response, Tony Kakkar shared a video addressing the backlash. He said, “I want a lollipop, two lollipops, three lollipops… oh, the fun I’m having reading the comments! Pop music will always have trolls at a certain level. There’s a big audience, you can’t ignore the business. Whether it’s one of your own or life itself, the money for producing videos comes from these songs. So thank you, go ahead and make it viral. Talk about it as much as you want, give abuse, give love – just give views.”
Despite Tony’s lighthearted reaction, many social media users remained unimpressed. Some compared Neha Kakkar to Dhinchak Pooja, criticizing her style, while others sarcastically asked, “What’s gotten into her these days?” or compared her to Rakhi Sawant. Several users expressed frustration, saying, “Stop it, this is all nonsense, can’t take it anymore.”
However, the song has found its audience among younger listeners, particularly Gen Z, who have expressed enjoyment of its quirky and vibrant vibes.
Tony Kakkar’s bold response highlights the evolving dynamics of music and social media, where viral engagement often overshadows conventional criticism.
