Mutual Cooperation for Sports Development
During the meeting held at the MP Chief Minister’s official residence, Dr. Mohan Yadav welcomed Shreysi Singh and assured full cooperation for the overall development of sports in Bihar. Discussions focused on facilitating bilateral coordination, sharing expertise, and promoting sports talent across both states.
Under the agreement, 20% of seats in various Madhya Pradesh sports academies will be reserved for talented athletes from Bihar. Training opportunities will be provided particularly in shooting, archery, boxing, and water sports, enabling Bihar’s athletes to benefit from high-quality facilities.
Knowledge and Infrastructure Sharing
It was agreed that until Bihar develops the necessary infrastructure for specific sports, its talented athletes will train in Madhya Pradesh under guidance from national and international coaches. Both states will engage in continuous exchange of knowledge, coaches, and sports experts to ensure holistic development of athletes. The MP authorities were also briefed about Bihar’s ambitious talent hunt project ‘Mashaal,’ which impressed them so much that they decided to implement a similar initiative in MP.
Focus on Water Sports Development
To explore water sports development in Bihar, Shreysi Singh’s delegation visited canoeing, kayaking, and rowing academies in Bhopal. The visit was coordinated with Prashant Kushwaha, President of the Indian Canoeing & Kayaking Federation, who assured full support for establishing water sports academies in Bihar.
