Bizarre Answers in BRA Bihar University Exam Papers Leave Professors Stunned

The answer sheets of undergraduate students from the 2024–28 session at Baba Saheb Ambedkar Bihar University (BRA Bihar University), Muzaffarpur, are creating quite a stir among faculty members. The ongoing evaluation has left professors bewildered, as some student responses are nothing short of extraordinary.

Shocking and Hilarious Student Responses

In one instance, a student wrote: “If I fail, my marriage will be canceled. I am of the right age. Please pass me, Sir. I will give you sweets as Guru Dakshina.” Far from being part of a casual phone conversation, these words appeared verbatim in an exam answer sheet, leaving evaluators shaking their heads.

Another student confused historical facts, writing the name of India’s first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, in place of the author of Padmavat. Yet another candidate used their answer sheet to pen a love letter, ending with “I love you, Pooja” and drawing a heart. Such unusual responses are not isolated cases; many other answer sheets reflect a similar lack of seriousness or understanding.

Widespread Online Circulation

The peculiar answers are now circulating widely on social media and WhatsApp, amusing the public but also causing concern for the university’s reputation. Alumni have criticized the declining standards of education, claiming that students are now simply going through the motions without any genuine learning.

Professors Face Dilemma

Exam evaluators are reportedly distressed. “Some students even hinted at offering bribes, others pleaded based on their age or personal hardships, and a few tried to exert emotional pressure,” said one professor. Such responses are particularly common in non-Hindi honours papers, adding to the evaluators’ challenges. University authorities are aware of the situation and are coordinating with faculty to ensure that grading remains fair and according to established standards.

No Compromise on Marks

Despite the bizarre and sometimes humorous answers, professors have clarified that marks will be awarded strictly based on the quality of responses. Appeals or emotional pleas will not influence the evaluation. Meanwhile, the incident has sparked discussions across the city about the declining quality of education in Bihar’s universities and government schools, and the need for stricter academic standards.
