“Come On, Join Me!”: CM Nitish Kumar Gives Ministers a Ride During Passing-Out Parade in Rajgir

Nalanda, Bihar: A memorable moment unfolded at the Bihar Police Academy in Rajgir, where 1,218 trainee sub-inspectors were officially commissioned in a grand passing-out parade. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the chief guest, inspected the parade in an open jeep and, in a spontaneous gesture, invited three ministers to join him for the salute.

Traditionally, the Chief Minister rides in the open jeep with only the Director General of Police (DGP) during such parades. However, as CM Nitish Kumar approached the jeep, his eyes fell on three ministers standing on the stage. With a warm gesture, he called out to Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, saying, “Hey, you come too, brother!” Immediately, Chaudhary climbed into the jeep.

The CM then extended the invitation to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar, telling them, “Why are you standing? Come on, brother!” Both ministers joined the open jeep, and together, they inspected the parade, saluting the freshly inducted sub-inspectors.

The ceremony was inclusive, with 1,218 sub-inspectors, including three transgender officers—Bunty Kumar, Madhu Kashyap, and Ronit Jha—taking part. Individual honours were also awarded: Ankit Kumar received a pistol and a baton, Rupesh Kumar was presented with a sword, and Meena Kumari was recognized as the Best Parade Commander.

CM Nitish Kumar’s friendly and spontaneous gesture, inviting ministers into the jeep, became the highlight of the parade, reflecting his approachable leadership style and camaraderie with his colleagues.
