Taking serious note of the recent fire incident in Indore district, the administration has initiated strict action to prevent such occurrences in the future. Under the direction of Collector Shivam Verma, a special inspection campaign has been launched to assess compliance with fire safety standards across industrial, commercial, and storage units. During inspections led by all SDMs in the district, several establishments were found violating safety norms—lacking essential fire safety equipment and preparedness. Consequently, 10 factories, warehouses, and commercial establishments have been sealed for non-compliance.
In the Rau area, SDM Gopal Verma’s team inspected several industrial units and sealed four cotton seed oil factories—Hanuman Oil Mill, Shyam Oil Mill, Jai Shree Natural Pvt. Ltd., and Ghiya Oil Product Pvt. Ltd.—for gross violations of fire safety norms. The team also confiscated 45,000 liters of acid illegally stored behind Choithram School in Tejpur Garbadi village. Additionally, an unauthorized plastic manufacturing unit in Pigdambar village and three oil factories not meeting prescribed safety standards were sealed.
Similarly, one establishment each in Juni Indore, Sanwer, Malharganj, Mhow, and Bicholi tehsil areas was sealed. In Juni Indore, SDM Pradeep Soni’s team sealed S.M. Paints located in Palda for non-compliance with fire safety regulations. In Sanwer, SDM Ghanshyam Dhangar sealed Apollo Tyres’ warehouse in Dakachya–Shipra, where around 40,000 tyres were found stored without any fire protection measures.
In the Malharganj area, SDM Nidhi Verma and the District Control team inspected Ratan Organic Company at Shanti Nagar, which manufactures soaps and creams under the brand Facial. The unit was sealed after flammable chemicals including ethanol were found stored without meeting safety standards.
In Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow), SDM Rakesh Parmar sealed Krishnangi Agro Food Pvt. Ltd. in Pipliya Lohar village for similar violations. Meanwhile, in Bicholi, SDM Ajay Shukla and Tehsildar Balbir Rajput sealed Saanjh Enterprises, a chemical unit producing commercial acid at Kelod Kartal, after unsafe conditions were discovered.
In total, 10 units were sealed during the day-long inspection drive.
Collector Shivam Verma has made it clear that any negligence in adhering to fire safety standards will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He urged all industrialists and commercial operators to conduct regular fire safety audits and ensure that all mandatory safety equipment and procedures are in place.
“Public safety is our utmost priority. Strict compliance with fire safety norms is essential to prevent tragedies and safeguard lives,” said Collector Verma.
