The ongoing Swachhata (Cleanliness) Campaign initiated by Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Mr. Siddharth Jain, is beginning to show tangible results across the rural areas of Indore district. Under the campaign, heaps of plastic and other waste materials have been removed from several gram panchayats, including Bhangya, Baroli, Ringnodiya, Solsinda, Tarana, Kajlana, and Kingdom, located along the Indore-Ujjain Road.
In the past three days alone, approximately 15 tons of waste have been cleared from around 70 sites. The collected waste has been stored at the Bhangya processing shed, where it will be scientifically processed. The cleanliness drive will continue actively for the next one month to ensure long-term results.
Mr. Jain informed that village panchayats have identified waste dumping sites within their respective areas, and systematic cleaning is being carried out regularly. The campaign is being monitored continuously by district-level officers to maintain efficiency and accountability.
To ensure strict compliance, warning notices have been issued to the secretaries of Dakachya, Pirkardia, Budhi Barlai, Lasudia, Rangwasa, Qazi Palasia, and Bhat Khedi gram panchayats for negligence in cleanliness activities.
The CEO further stated that the campaign will now be intensified and local public representatives will be actively involved to enhance participation. In addition, large-scale training programs will be organized to encourage community engagement and public awareness.
The next phase of the campaign will focus on plastic waste management, with technical training sessions set to begin from Monday to ensure sustainable handling of waste materials.
