Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the “Wash on Wheel” mobile application on the occasion of Madhya Pradesh’s 70th Foundation Day. The innovative initiative, launched under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) and implemented by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, is set to give a new technological direction to rural sanitation services.
The “Swachhata Saathi – Wash on Wheel Service” is a unique concept that offers online toilet cleaning services for both individual and institutional users in rural areas through a mobile application. This modern solution aims to revolutionize sanitation by making toilet cleaning efficient, accessible, and sustainable. Initially launched in Chhindwara district with technical support from NIC-MP, the model is now being implemented across the state.
Additional Chief Secretary Mrs. Deepali Rastogi explained that the Wash on Wheel service ensures affordable, accessible, and quick cleaning services in villages. The initiative uses modern equipment like pressure machines and safety kits for effective cleaning. It also provides safe and dignified livelihood opportunities for trained Swachhata Saathis, with two-wheeler-based rapid response services and a cluster-based delivery model ensuring sustainable sanitation management.
The initiative also aims to promote regular use of toilets in rural areas and to strengthen sanitation management across household, institutional, and community toilets while empowering sanitation workers with steady income and social dignity.
Online Booking Through Mobile App
The Wash on Wheel mobile app offers a user-friendly online booking system for toilet cleaning. It features an SMS-based simple login, precise location tagging, and options to select preferred date and time for the service. Users can track their bookings in real-time, submit feedback after service completion, and benefit from geo-tagged online monitoring to ensure transparency and quality.
This innovative step by the Madhya Pradesh government marks a significant stride toward achieving cleaner, healthier, and technology-driven rural sanitation systems in the state.
