In a surprise announcement during Monday night’s White House Christmas reception, Donald Trump Jr., the 47-year-old eldest son of U.S. President Donald Trump, revealed that he is engaged to 38-year-old model and socialite Bettina Anderson. The couple’s engagement was announced in front of President Trump, with Anderson present at the event.
A Heartfelt Proposal
A video posted on social media by Trump aide Laura Loomer captured the emotional moment. In the clip, Trump Jr. expressed his nervousness, saying, “It doesn’t happen often that I’m at a loss for words because we usually communicate so well. I just want to thank Bettina for that one word – ‘Yes.’” He described the proposal as both exciting and nerve-wracking: “When you sit down to ask, you never really know what the answer will be. It’s always a bit challenging, but she said yes—a huge win to end the year.”
Bettina Anderson’s Reaction
Anderson also spoke at the event, thanking First Lady Melania Trump for the decorations and calling the occasion “incredible” and “the most memorable weekend of my life.” She added, “I got the chance to say yes to the love of my life. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.”
Background of the Couple
Trump Jr. and Anderson were first linked in September 2024, following the end of Trump Jr.’s engagement to Kimberly Guilfoil. Donald Trump Jr. was previously married to model Vanessa Hayden in 2005; the couple divorced in 2018 and share five children.
The engagement marks a joyful personal milestone for Trump Jr. and is the latest in the Trump family’s high-profile public moments, celebrated this time amid the festive White House holiday season.
